Our Hotel
Ours is a country-style hotel, located in the foothills of The Sierra Tarasca (Purepecha) were we offer traditional Mexican Colonial style accommodations and architecture spread-out over an area of seven plus acres, replete with gardens, connecting walkways, solar heated swimming pool, and all the services and amenities of a three star hotel. The climate of Uruapan, located some 5,248 feet above sea level, is temperate with average annual temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Pie De La Sierra was constructed in 1968 and has undergone continual expansion and improvements ever since. Our goal is to provide a combination of the cultural, artistic, and handcrafted richness of the area with the best service and comfort offered in any country hotel setting. For the enjoyment of our guests we continually offer excursions of an ecotourist and cultural nature to the many areas of interest in the nearby mountain Indigenous communities.

Expansive gardens covering five plus acres, pine and oak forests, extensive outdoor entertainment and playing areas for children and adults alike, indoor entertainment areas for pool, billiards, ping-pong, and other table games, bonfire area, solar heated swimming pool, and the assurance that during your stay, you will be far from the noise and confusion of the city center in a beautiful pastoral setting with spectacular panoramic views to the city below and the surrounding mountains on all sides.
Other than the facilities detailed above, we have six conference rooms, with a capacity of from 15 to 1000 people for trade shows, meetings, parties, weddings, etc. Food and beverage services and audio- visual equipment are available for the use of your group or conference.
Additionally, restaurant, bar, room service, laundry, extensive parking areas, trailer park, an Internet and bussiness service center, wireless Internet connection throughout most of the hotel (main section, conference rooms, restaurant and gardens), cable TV and telephone in every room, and fax services in the reception area are all offered for your convenience.
